Sleeping Dog Wines was founded in 2002 by Larry and Joyce Oates in Benton City, Washington, building on Larry's winemaking journey that began in 1992. The winery specializes in red wines, with Carménère as a signature varietal, using grapes from Buoy Vineyard and Rivers Bend Vineyards and aging their wines in oak before releasing them after five or more years of bottle aging.
