Founded in 1981 in the Poconos, Sorrenti Family Estate Winery was among the first to grow grapes in a region others deemed climatically unsuitable. Established by Dominic Sorrenti and his wife Mary to preserve Southern Italian winemaking heritage passed down from Dominic's father Francescantonio Sorrenti, who immigrated from Italy in 1912, the winery crafts wines from local vitis lambrusca grapes including Niagara, Pink Catawba, and Concord.
A pioneering Poconos estate winery founded in 1981 to preserve Southern Italian winemaking heritage, working with vitis lambrusca grapes and fruit wines in a region once considered unsuitable for viticulture.
