Porter Creek Vineyards was founded in 1978 by George R. Davis on a Russian River Valley estate with existing Pinot Noir vines, beginning commercial production from a bonded barn in 1982. Now run by his son Alex Davis—a winemaker trained at Fresno State, Université de Bourgogne, and under notable Burgundy winemakers—the Healdsburg winery crafts Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, Zinfandel, Viognier, and Carignane from its own designated vineyards.
