BARRA of Mendocino launched in 1997 from a legacy of North Coast pioneering—Charlie Barra purchased Redwood Valley Vineyards in 1955 and was among the first to focus on varietal plantings like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery's debut release, a '97 Petite Sirah, set the tone for a diverse portfolio spanning Pinot Blanc, Moscato, Sangiovese, and Zinfandel, all crafted in the heart of Redwood Valley.
